This guy's like Chet, Doc, Django and Uncle Pecos rolled into one! Sweeeeeeeet.

I have to disagree. Chet Atkins was an incredible guitarist, and his music is still on a whole different level than most players, but in my opinion I'd have to say Doyle d**es and Tommy Emmanuel are better than Chet.

Not only is Doyle expressive, he has fun doing it!

Looks like a Gibson Byrdland or an L5.

Doyle's playing just puts a big smile on my face! I read in an interview that the great producer Trevor Horn said his test of musical greatness was when it put a big smile of appreciation on your face.

Doyle has the gift. What a master.

That guy is crazy good, it's a great privilledge to just be able to watch this stuff right from the couch...

reminds me very much of Mr. Chet Atkins, Nobody can ever reach Chet's level in full, but this guy is damn close. great vid. The second tune, reminds me very much of Doc Watson, the second greatest guitar master.

Doyle d**es reminds me of Buddy Rich, Even tho Buddy was a drummer,I simply mean they both have the Midas Touch.Much success to you doyle.Its a pleasure listening to you play.

that is a nice guitar, i have never seen that model of gibson before.

He use any kind of guitar he wants at any,, so long and he has a Taylor on the stage,, notice the one in the background

i have a vhs tape of scotty anderson he's really amazing with his chick'n pick'n technique

Taylor does not make full body archtops so of course he has to use another brand of guitar.

It looks like a private concert and not a Taylor Clinic, as a result he's probably under no obligation to use a Taylor.

Actually, it was just last year! Originally the church had this on their website and it could only be streamed, but as soon as I found them I e-mailed the guy and he put them up for download so as to conserve bandwidth. I think he did it the next day, too! That guy is on top of things. :)
