You must not be aware about how hard it is to sing and play guitar at the same moment, in the same rythm.
Even for a professional like Colbie it's hard, you can clearly see that on every other live performance of her.
Check 1:07 - 1:11, there you clearly see how she has to exclude words to not kill the rythm.
