This 10 minute video highlights the Project-JK "5-Scream" trail run we did up Odessa Canyon which is located in the Calico Ghost Town area in the Mojave Desert. This trail requires a lot of low range work to crawl and climb up large boulders and dry falls with plenty of opportunities to take on harder lines of which we did every chance we got. And, likewise, we got plenty of opportunities to put our winches to the test and our tow straps to good use. Along for the ride was Toad in her 2-door Jeep JK Wrangler X sitting on a Pro Comp 2" Budget Boost and 32" BFG M/T's, SDMF in his 2-Door JK Rubicon sitting on top of a new Currie Enterprises Rock Jock JK Suspension System and 35" Cooper SST's, JeepCacher in his JK Unlimited X sitting on top of a TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost and 33" BFG A/T's, Trail Bud in his JK Unlimited Rubicon sitting on top of a Full Traction 3" Ultimate Lift and 33" BFG M/T's and us (wayoflife & WOLette) in our JK Unlimited Rubicon sitting on top of a Full Traction 3" Ultimate Lift and 35" Pro Comp Xtreme M/T's.

Aside from the awesome JK's, kickass choice of using Muse for opening song.

  • actually, both ...

actually, both white jeeps are rubicon models and both have full traction 3" ultimate lift kits on. however, the jeep with the black wheels (mine) is on 35" pro comp xtreme m/t's tires and the silver wheels has 33" bfg m/t's. i highly recommend this lift based on experience and would recommend toyo m/t's or the pro comp xtreme m/t's for tires.

  • a budget boost is ...

a budget boost is an affordable lift (about $250) that will give you 2"-2.5" lift using coil spacers as opposed to using taller springs. i currently run a full traction lift and from experience can tell you that it can take the most beating. i run 35's and a 3" lift - 4" might be a bit tall for 35's though. lower center of gravity is better on the trail.

you can do the trail with no lockers. my buddy followed me and he had open diffs. is the driver that makes that trail tough. I have a rubi. rarely use them only when i choose the big rocks.
