Before trucks, large draft(no pun intended) horses were needed and used to pull the heavy barrels of beer to markets that were distant from the breweries. In Europe breeds of horses became assoc. with certain breweries, like Jutlands for Carlsberg beer, etc.

Bassicly, there saying that this horse wasn't good enough to pull the budweiser cart, so you have to be good enough to drink the beer.

In horses were used to haul the beer wagons before cars were popular.

Budweiser just happens to breed Clydesdales, which were often used to haul their wagons, and they still travel the country to appear at state and county fairs.

They're AWESOME MASSIVE animals, and so beautiful! I've seen the at the Erie County Fair for many years.

its not really about the horses but the fact that the Clydesdale Horse is a symbol more than anything.
Its a symbol of oldtimes and tradition which is what Budweiser tries to promote
