  • Oprah? Bono? Al ...

Oprah? Bono? Al Gore? Oh, please no. Yes Churchill, yes JFK, YES Dr. King! Yes even to the others, but those three? Egads. Where's Pres. Reagan "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall." or Jim Valvano, "Don't EVER give up." Who sponsors this, Entertainment Tonight?

  • Bono is talking ...

Bono is talking about justice. No one else seem concerned about justice.

They all had/have over inflated egos. One is no better than the other, in that respect.

I don't think Bono should be compared to JFK, MLK or Churchill. Bono has an over inflated ego and thinks he is more important than he actually is.

I think that they should have had Hitler in there not because of the message he sent, but because of the power he made doing it and the effect and change it had on the world.

  • It would be nicer ...

It would be nicer if the names of speakers appears with their job; artiste, entrepreneur, president, prime minister, etc. And it would be complete if their words accompany their respective speeches. Anw, thanks for sharing..

  • After all, this ...

After all, this collection of speeches does not claim to be complete. It is not "the most important speeches of the 20th century"--we're just talking about inspiration here and that can be anything and anybody. You may think that FDR had more inspiring things to say than Dr.King and that's just as okay and "correct" as somebody who wants his mom or grandfather on the list. It's about WHAT they say, not WHO said it.

  • Gore doesn't ...

Gore doesn't deserve to be on here? Yeah, I suppose you are right, he has only won a Nobel Peace Prize Award for his efforts. But sure, let's allow political affiliation to ruin his efforts. He seems to be a visionary as to the problems of global warming. It isn't a myth, and it wasn't his idea like the internet was. He's committed to the idea of fighting against global warming.

Mikescircus, when MLK was shot there were people who thought he didn't belong anywhere. It's OK to appreciate all the good people can do amongst all the bad and wrong things most people can do (and give them credit for it).
