I hoped we'd got to a stage where there was a better response to a serious accident than drivers and hand held extinguishers. The fact that both drivers were conscious after the impact and survived the fire is a compliment to modern safety measures but not having gallons of foam available within seconds on the pit straight at the start of an endurance race with cars with full tanks or seemingly any paramedics awake is pretty shocking.

lets cut the crap here,the response time to the crash was ridiculus. Tetsuya suffered worse injuries than were needed,the fuji track officials should be ashamed !

I looked better at the video, teh savior wasn't a doctor, so he couldn't done anything to help that time, we can see him talking to tetsuya, maybe asking him to wait util the medical staff arrive, well thats is what can be watched at the video, anyway the best of all is that he survived the crash and maybe he came back to racing

Yes I are right , but there should be enought people to take care both . Car and driver.

at f1, a driver called (I just remember hsi last name) Palleti died in a crash because of internal bleeding (im not english talker =P) but his car turned up into flames 2 or 3 minutes after the crash, so checking out the car first is necessary, in case of more fuel remained (ok I know its impossible), but its better check it out for sure ^^

you can also see the crewman run around the side and talk with the saving driver before running back around to tend to tetsuya.

I can understand what u mean in #2. But his savior (forget his name) already extinguished the fire. The crewman is checking the spot that had already been extinguished so he could be helped out of the car. and #3...i guess i can understand but what is left to explode after something like that? At least get someone after the car and someone on the person so he doesnt hurt himself as much

1- he gone check if there was any other fire signs within the car,if a explosion have happend there for sure a good part of them would have perished, if you look carefully he come back to help the driver

2- the car hited the gas tank part, just look for dale earnhardt jr crash at sonoma with a corvette

3- like I've said, they are securing the risk of explosions to then work helping the driver without anything to worry about

2.How does a car blow up that easily? maybe better tech is needed? a few miles per hour slower isnt much...

yeah, another example of negligence at a race track. There is absolutely no excuse for this. At least he survived unlike poor roger... RIP

Aca veo tres crimenes: 1) Que los organizadores no hayan parado la carrera con tanta niebla. 2) Que el pace-car haya ido a excesiva velocidad. 3) Que los paramedicos se hayan demorado tanto y, cuando llegaron, hayan tratado tan mal al corredor del Ferrari. El bombero que lo atiende inicialmente... lo deja SOLO!! Lo veo y no lo puedo creer! Entiendo que el piloto del Ferrari les gano un juicio a los organizadores. Me parece muy bien. Que paguen por ineptos!
