    I think it's important to cast good looking actors to portray Henry VIII. In his youth and prime, he was considered the handsomest prince in Christendom. He was also charismatic, witty, charming and well spoken. What we see today are depictions of the tyrannical fat and old king; the man who chopped his wives heads off, not the one who made them fall in love with him. It's easy to imagine Eric Bana as a young Harry.

    Yes, up until the fall of his horse that injured his leg, it is said he was a very competitive sportsman, especially jousting and hunting. But after the accident his leg never healed properly and his leg would get these ulcers it which he had to keep wrapped, some accounts of his injury say that the kings leg became so infected that it filled the air around him with a foul stench. I am so fascinated with this time period. it is incredible!
