"Wild Horses," the first single from Susan's forthcoming CD "I Dreamed A Dream," is a song originally recorded by the Rolling Stones on their 1971 album "Sticky Fingers." The song was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at #334 in its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."

In the liner notes to the 1993 Stones collection "Jump Back: The Best of The Rolling Stones," Jagger states, "Everyone always says this was written about Marianne but I don't think it was; that was all well over by then. But I was definitely very inside this piece emotionally." Keith Richards wrote the melody and came up with the phrase "Wild Horses." Jagger introduced it as a "sad love song" at the Rolling Stones performance in Rio de Janeiro in 2006.

When planning began for Susan Boyle's first CD, an effort was made to not just release a CD of "show tunes," as many were expecting. Susan decided to focus on the songs she grew up listening to and singing, songs she felt comfortable with. In a recent interview with Meredith Vieira, when pressed for details of the CD, all Susan would volunteer was, 'You're going to be surprised."

Wild Horses
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)

Childhood living
is easy to do
The things that you wanted
I bought them for you

Graceless lady
you know who I am
You know I can't let you
just slide through my hands

Wild horses
couldn't drag me away
Wild horses
couldn't drag me away

I watched you suffer
a dull and aching pain
Now you've decided
to show me the same

No sweeping exits
or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter
or treat you unkind

Wild horses
couldn't drag me away
Wild horses
couldn't drag me away

I know I dreamed you
a sin and a lie
I have my freedom
but I don't have much time

Faith has been shattered,
and tears must be cried
Let's do some living
after we die

Wild horses
couldn't drag me away
Wild horses
couldn't drag me away...away...

  • I know Susan all my ...

I know Susan all my life! She stays 11 doors away from my in a little villiage in Scotland called Blackburn.

Any of you with a brain cant deny the beauty in her vocals! This is what singing should sound like and above!

For the strange people that dont like her, she never asked for any of this. Give her a break.

I love her and I really mean that.
