so i have a windows vista disk right that should contain everything so when i wipe my hard drive and i put that in it would be like i just got it? cuz when u get a computer new you always get a cd

but does this program also the erase the OS?

So all you do is loud dban and burn the iso file as an image onto the dvd R? or am I missing some thing?

No, you can. Programs are obviously stored on disks if you buy them and some can be downloaded. Windows should also be on a disk. Once you delete everything, you can put in your windows disk or a recovery disk (if your pc maker gave you one) to re-install windows to get it working again. After windows is installed, just install all the programs.

does that mean that u wont be able to use your computer again......because i want to erase my hard drive like new but i dont want it to delete the progrems the computer needs,like if it deletes everything you wont even have the internet program to run it

awesome, i just used dban today to get rid of all the viruses on my desktop. im fed up with xp, i know i have vista on my laptop and i like it, so its going on my desktop next so i can say bye bye to viruses (yes, i like vista. sp1 fixed ALL OF THE PROBLEMS. i used to have problems, but not any more. for all u vista bashers out there, get vista. i guarantee that, with sp1, ull like it alot) however, do not buy it without sp1. if you do this, you will hate your vista experience.

ive herd many thinks bout DB&N, im unsure wot think. do u use it as oppoised to formatting? if so do u just then re install windows as normal?

I know that DBAN will completely wipe all the data and the OS. But I was wondering if the OS can be re-installed? and If the hard drive will have all its free space back?
