1968 Jimi Hendrix - Foxy Lady

I have heard the hole set. I've actually got the cd of this performance and yes, he does play new live music. yet, he just wanted to get aways from playing his ol' stuff man. as for not a good performance? he had alot on his mind, Electric ladyland was opening, he was stressed, gear malfuntioning etc. but, he was still able to give the best performance of Red House I ever heard.

He actually played 5 more shows after this one. He was tired of the fact that everyone seemed to want the old tunes, but if you've heard the whole set you'll know he played newer songs like Machine Gun, Hey Baby, Freedom, Message to Love, Midnight Lightning, Ezy Rider,In From the Storm, Dolly Dagger and All Along the Watchtower, which he had only started playing live that year. Overall, not a very good performance by his standards, but I love having this to see over and over again...

shame all his gear was malfunctioning. how did he not have a bad trip with all his S**t going wrong

In the intro after he thanks the crowd he says" If you want the same old songs we can do that" referring to the fact that he was sick of playing his early hits. Then he walks away from the mic and mouths "F**k " like he is pissed off about having to play Foxy Lady again!

He plays the guitar like ringin a bell,or like doing it with his mouth,you know what i mean,he very cool, dude,later

he just came straight back at 2 in the morning from the 2 days opening party at his studio in NY - so hes probably on something

he played himself to death(or "the next one") - on this recording you can see that there aint long. allways yours jimi.....

not at all actually.......he ripped his pants doing moves for the crowd....It's wierd this was his second last performace before his death. the intro about the same old songs are sarcastic..he didn't like playing the same songs..the 1970's were changing times for him..but people are animals and treated him how they wanted him too be (loud, overbearding rock guitarist.) He did not like that....he died a few weeks later..dont believe me watch other isle of wight footage. Peace
