  • There is no street ...

There is no street car that can beat the Ultima 0-100-0mph, production or otherwise. Show proof of your bullxxxx claims.

  • The porsche is ...

The porsche is street legal, in that it has seat belts, a vin number, turn signals, f/r bumpers, windshield wipers, headlights, and stop/tail lights, and if there only has to be one of that particular car for the record to count, there are quite a few that can beat the Ultima,As you can see by my previous comments I would like to see the record stand for the fastest 0-100-0 "production" car which would be the 1967 Shelby 427sohc cobra roadster @11 seconds.

  • Surely the Porsche ...

Surely the Porsche would have been on super sticky slicks? The Ultima was on treaded road tyres and totally street legal.

If you want to go that route the 917 "pink pig" could go 0-100-0 in 4.2seconds. under controlled conditions.

  • FIA (SCCA is an FIA ...

FIA (SCCA is an FIA member) can define it as a certain number of cars, and Guinness Book or anyone else can define it as any other number of cars. FIA's purpose was (and is) to discourage cheaters, not to define "production" in a way RELEVANT to road-legal car records-only for fia RACE programs. MR. WEBSTER (the DICTIONARY ;-) ) says a "production" is something produced, so you can define production as whatever you can buy in the free-market, e.g. "any turnkey car," & be fine with Mr. Webster.

  • ...more importantly ...

...more importantly, even at 200 kg lighter, the POWER-TO-WEIGHT isn't even close to the 720-BHP version of Ultima that you can buy -- let alone the 1000+ BHP turbo-LSx Ultimas out there (same 1000 hp as Veyron has, but in a chassis that weighs half as much and smaller aerodynamic silhouette...)

  • fia and scca rules ...

fia and scca rules state for the production calesses there have to be 500 examples manufactured in 1 production year. Otherwise there would be numerous cars that could produce such numbers.
