Tommy Emmanuel playing Amazing Grace on Woodsongs Old Time Radio Show. http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp
good words man but we all should listen to the music the almighty gave us.... Its a shame because people do more damage trying to classify GOD as something that goes along with their thinking and give a name to it... Even the most religous don't realize all they are doing is idol worshipping.... Be good my brother... Peace all....

When someone points out the hypocracy of a religion, they're NOT attacking or limiting God. Religion is not god, god is not a religion and no religion is any better than any other. That was my point. Between the The Buddhist Dahmma, the Islamic Koran, and the bible, the bible is the most bastardized of the 3, so christians certainly have no room to claim it is god;s word or anything holy.

John Newton believe that it was his prayers that were answered becoz he was white. He was egocentric. This is discrimination hidden in a song. Nothing to do with any religious dogma at all.

By tickleurmind [Affiliate User] 1195111777 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeprecisely my point! john newton thought it was his prayers that were answered and not the prayers of some black slaves. becoz he was thinking like a white tyrant. he believed that God only answers white peoples prayers which led him to believe its his prayers that were answered. This is discrimination hidden in a song.
By tickleurmind [Affiliate User] 1195111562 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewhy do you limit "God"? If he's REALLY omipotent, we cannot label him as "Christian" or "Jewish" or "Muslim" or ANYTHING for that matter because he transcends all. So stop arguing. You cannot CONFINE Him
Anyway GREAT playing by tommy, i really love his acoustic tone and that blues feel he has going.
Nice performance, and a nice amalgam of cross influuences. A bit of Lenny Breau, a bit Leo Kottke, and a wee bit of an EJ-esque blues feel as well, with a nice result.
Thanks for posting this.
Nice post, Smiley... Refreshing to hear someone quote MAN'S word, and honestly identify it as such! Its just that when someone like ticklemind starts spewing their religious dogma on a nusic thread, insisting that their book of stolen fables is the last word, I need to call them on their hypocracy, and point out that the god they worship is actually the god of a religion many christians (I.E Ann Coutler , Jerry Falwell) hypocritically feel is inferior to their own .
Have a great day.
GOD is GOD he is neither Jewish, Christian, Arabic, etc..... Those are man's words.... Just be good to one another....Peace....

By theshizzlefizzle [Affiliate User] 1194874703 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe bible's NOT god's word, its a series of fables, often stolen from other earlier religions. The fables were first told around hebrew campfires for generations, and expanded upon and exxagerated.. First written in Hebrew, then to Greek, to Latin, then English. Some words existed in each of those languages but don't exist in the next one. So things were changed, discarded, even added, often by mere scribes, not religious historians. You are praying to a Jewish god and don't even know it.

Just tickling ur mind. hihihi
By tickleurmind [Affiliate User] 1194796008 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removey is it that john newton thinks God answered his prayers? ru telling me no one else was praying on that boat? what if God was answering sumone elses prayers and it just happened he was on d boat? i guess God doesnt answer black slaves' prayers only white tyrants. Just tickling ur mind.

its worth it though, this is amazing
It was a a place called St George's which is an old church just down from the university. From my count it holds about 4-500 and the acoustics were excellent. It was a sell out. My girlfriend didn't know who he was and is not a guitarist but she was stunned by how good he was!
