Howard Robard Hughes, Jr. (24 December 1905 -- 5 April 1976), was an American aviator, engineer, industrialist, film director and producer, and the wealthiest man in the world. He is famous for setting multiple world air-speed records, building the Hughes H-1 Racer and H-4 Hercules aircraft, producing the movies Hell's Angels, Scarface and The Outlaw, as well as owning and expanding Trans World Airlines.
Howard Hughes revolutionized the commercial airlining in the 40's and 50's as we know it today. Hughes aircraft had the leading role in developing our air planes into faster, larger and less expensive to travel by, while still maintaining the business profitable.
Howard Hughes was undoubtfully a man of several talents, directing and producing top movies parallel to developing highly advanced and ground breaking technology. Contrary to popular belief, Howard Hughes was involved in more than just air craft, he founded a prominent medical institute and had several factories manifacturing some of the worlds most advanced electronical equipment. Hughes is also responsible for building the world's largest airplane, first communication satellites and remote control missiles.
Despite not having finished any higher education, Hughes was a self learned and ingenious inventor that led humanity and civilization one step further in its evolution.

Hughes himself test flew his own experimental planes, instead of having other pilots fly-test his planes. Man!..that takes balls!..risking his own life not just once, but many times!!...he didn't trust other test pilots other than himself, I guess!!

Hughes had a love of aviation and science. And the guy as been dead for 32 years. So what the heck does the guy have to do with Iraq? Was Hughes ever a politician, do you think he invented warfare? Get your facts straight.

We also have Raytheon, formerly Hugh's Aircraft which allowed Bush to proceed with his infamous "Day's of Awe" that plastered Iraq with tons of missiles and bombs. Hugh's was a genius, but what profit a man to gain the world and loose his soul?

This is a good video.
Is this about the EU?
As for the peanut gallery - syphillus was Neitsche (NOT Hughes - Hughes lived through several plane crashes because he was a hands on kind of guy who didn't delegate the test flights - consequently he incurred several injuries and became addicted to morphine - let him rest in peace).
Hey..there's one important woman missing from those pics- Jean Peters, who was married to him, and apparently the only one who hasn,t been bad-mouthed by him.

I think he had ADD, from all the different things in his mind, but he made the dissorder work. The same can be said about his ODC.
He was the most complex man to ever live.
It is merely speculative that Hughes suffered from a syphilis infection. He for example did not show any characteristic signs of tertiary stage syphilis (e.g disseminated blisters), that could in theory be attributed to his mental sicknes (i.e. CNS destruction by the treponema bacteria)or aversion towards hand shaking (transmittance of disease via infectious blisters). But since he lacked any of the tertiary signs at death it is higly unlikely that he was ever affected by the infection.
