Hughes himself test flew his own experimental planes, instead of having other pilots fly-test his planes. Man!..that takes balls!..risking his own life not just once, but many times!!...he didn't trust other test pilots other than himself, I guess!!

We also have Raytheon, formerly Hugh's Aircraft which allowed Bush to proceed with his infamous "Day's of Awe" that plastered Iraq with tons of missiles and bombs. I think he had ADD, from all the different things in his mind, but he made the dissorder work. The same can be said about his ODC.

It is merely speculative that Hughes suffered from a syphilis infection. He for example did not show any characteristic signs of tertiary stage syphilis (e.g disseminated blisters), that could in theory be attributed to his mental sicknes (i.e. CNS destruction by the treponema bacteria)or aversion towards hand shaking (transmittance of disease via infectious blisters). But since he lacked any of the tertiary signs at death it is higly unlikely that he was ever affected by the infection.
