LizzyAston - Dr. Doug Rokke is a conspiracy theorist? So none of its fact? He's just making this S**t up? God what is with americans and this "conspiracy theorist" S**t ? Anyone who speaks AGAINST the Government or the regular news is a "conspiracy theorist"! Do you KNOW how many people go to prison on the charge of CONSPIRACY?! F**ks sake - you guys and your complete ignorance and confrontational sarcastic S**t attitudes disgust me. I am so disappointed with people on youtube. F**k this S**t .

So did I, only I paid more attention. The dangers he focused on are as I described. INHALATION IS THE #1 THREAT. Closely followed by uranium oxide contaminating food and water, then passive radiation. Lizzy I don't think Dr. Doug is a conspiracy theorist, but I do think mrjustin jumps to dramatic conclusions without much thought put into it.

WTF kind of bullshit statement is that to send to all our loved ones over there? You need to check yourself.
Tell the soldier the truth about Depleted Uranium, and the soldier won't go to war.
It's too bad the soldier doesn't know, Depleted Uranium kills, and the soldier is expendable.
350 tons used in the first Gulf War, and the current Iraq war has expended an estimated 5 times more tonnage of DU than was used in the first Gulf War.
The U.S. has used more depleted uranium since 1991 than the atomicity equivalent of 400,000 Nagasaki bombs.
And besides, they are going to war; the chances are that they will die anyway. And another thing, the DU used in tanks for armour is much stronger than other forms of metal, so there will be an increased chance of survival if the same amounts of DU is used when compared to ordanary types of metal.

It does take around 10 inches to stop the radiation, but surely the damage of the radiation that does reach the person and that ionises them is obviously going to be negligable, because I have'nt seen any reports of 3-armed children from soldiers. And we have been using DU for quite some time, and no freaks (other word?) have been seen.
Depleted Uranium, U-235, a very unstable isotope known to emit class 3 gamma radiation. Only thing that can stop such radiation is a 10-12 inch thick lead. This type of radiation goes through the entire body, it is known tetrogen and carcinogen.
As a fellow soldier, you are not always told the 100% truth, just shreds or nothing at all. You are ultimately responsible for your own life. Be cautious of misinformation that are disguised as truth.
I think that Dr. Doug guy might be a conspiracy theorist, and that you believe what he says.
I'm thinking InfantryOfficer is right.
Thanks so for the comment, though.
I dont know what I am talking about? YOU are wrong! I have seen countless videos with Dr. Doug Rokke speaking out on depleted uranium. He wrote the BOOK on Depleted Uranium and how to handle it for the military! He said HIMSELF that those radiation badges never pick up the radiation you are exposed to inside the tank. The military LIES to its solders ALL the time. Come on! Wake up! Every comment on leave on DU is backed up by fact, research and a reputable source. Care to explain WHY I am wrong?
By mrjustin5 [Affiliate User] 1207554755 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis guy doesn't know what he is talking about. The main danger is when you are around areas hit by kinetic penetrators or bullets composed of DU. Also any DU which has experienced high velocity or temperature (I.E. explosive damage). In its inert state it is relatively harmless, but oxidized and aerosolized it becomes dangerous.
By lnfantryofficer [Affiliate User] 1207544454 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHey, LizzyAston. Being inside a D.U. "Armored" tank for 3 months - highly dangerous. You are exposed to large amounts of Gamma radiation, I believe. The badges you wear inside of them will never show any radiation poisoning because they're not designed to register that type of radiation. DU is NUCLEAR WASTE & its sickening to see GOOD people who join the military that want to HELP this country are treated less than human, with no medical assistance to boot. LETS HOPE YOU NEVER INHALED DU DUST!
By mrjustin5 [Affiliate User] 1207521233 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removemeasured in millisieverts(for which background radiation is measured as 2.4 per year normally, its 3.1 where i work in places :P),alpha is made of helium ,beta of positrons, gamma is electromagnetic radiation and neutron radiation speaks for its self. the giger i normally have is one of the little badges that just buzzes when its getting too high but the old CDF one i have always starts at one for some strange reason
By spatza123 [Affiliate User] 1207520684 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThey use DU in US tanks. Exactly how bad are they for people, say, over a period of 3 months?
By LizzyAston [Affiliate User] 1207439611 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTopGunMan was told: "If you dont mind then tell the guys at Yucca Mountain you wouldn't mind a few drums in your backyard." TopGunMan says DU isn't the same Nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain! He probably thinks nuclear waste is that GREEN, GLOWING SLIMEY GOOP that you see on the Simpsons! He's on youtube blabbing all damn day about how SAFE and GREAT DU is!! THIS GUY IS A COMPLETE MORON!! IGNORE HIM!
By mrjustin5 [Affiliate User] 1207119102 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSo much ignorance and blabbing on youtube. Higher than 1 WHAT on a GEIGER counter?! Milirem? A RAD? a rieken?! WHAT?! Do ANY of you know that there are different TYPES of Radiation? Like Alpha and Beta Particles? Gamma radiation? Do you even know what ionizing radiation is?!
