Nothing's wrong with them. I like snakes too. A cobra would be really cool, but it would be a great inconvenience for me.

Pythons are better watchdogs in some countries though. Thieves hear you have a snake, they stay clear of your house.

So I've got nothing wrong with snakes. Just saying that a mongoose would be more practical, let's say in Kenya where cobras frequently enter the house uninvited.
