    That is a bit myopic...they can choose between surviving by fighting or not...not much of a choice..and besides...I hardly think an 8 year old "chooses" to leave home and school to train in a camp in Thailand for the rest of their life...

    Strange that they're doing a Wai Kru/Ram Muay. I thought Malaysia was a moslem country and Moslems aren't allowed to do the Wai Kru/Ram Muay.

    Don't assume just because they're not born in the west that life is hard and without choice. If their heart wasn't in this they wouldn't last the rigours of training and fighting. All the kids i've met in the Muay Thai camps in Thailand chose the life they lead and know that if they fight well they can make a better life for their families. Not much different to us really.
    And besides one of those kids is pretty fat so he's getting plenty of food!
