No, EEE PC SSD is slow. Cheap SSDs are slower than hard drives. The 1000H is faster by a large margin with writing to the disk and marginally faster with read speed. Use HDTune for results. Once you upgrade the 1000H to a 160+gb Hard Disk its even better.

I had heard that the 16G SSD drive was much slower then the 8G and 12G they used before... I am guessing it is a cheaper SSD. I also head that the drive can be swapped out for a different SSD AND that you can put a 1.8 inch hard Disk Drive in it too. (HHD is the iPod type) Look around on Youtube for videos posted by JKKMOBILE he has one on upgrading the storage on a EeePC 901. I am assuming its the same on the 1000

i say the Eee pc 1000h is faster and the CPU performance is good when it is super high performance but Eee pc 901 is abit slow when it is super high performance so my choice is the Eee PC 1000h is better in 1080p then the Eee PC 901

I didn't overclock the atom much, but only choice "Super High Performance" in the setting. 1080p, no problem!

How much does 1080p performance improve if you overclock the atom to 1.8ghz?

Apparently the SSD used in the Asus computers are quite slow, because they are so cheap, so I'm not surprised that there is not a big difference between the SSD and HDD.

EEE pc 900 and 1000 scores a 1.0 for video and graphics in vista. I think if these eee pcs had a good video processor the results would be different. Still, these pcs are beautiful and handy for the price.

SSDs are a little bit faster than HDD. When HD companies start to bring out 200mb a sec SSDs there will be a noticeable difference.

My testing 1000H only has 1Gb ram and all the comfig are the same as 901 but only the screen size and 1000H is using hard drive.
901 using SSD should has a faster and smooth movie play. that's why I said 1000H is not bad compare to 901

Thank you for the video. But isn't it obvious that both would be similar since both have almost the same hardware apart from the fact that 1000H has 2GB. this probably explains why the 1000H is smoother as you said.
