Alternative energy has always eluded us. In the past, we were told by the media that "Cold Fusion" was a fraud - that it would never work. Well, you may be in for a rude awakening. This video uncovers the history and deliberate attempt to bury, distort and alter the data results of a wonderful discovery that has been kept from mankind long enough.

The War Against Cold Fusion (part 1 of 5)

  • What makes you ...

What makes you think that I am a layman? I did not say that PNAS was not bona fide; I was questioning the fact that it seems to have published only a few CF papers, all of which were by the same authors and none of which were cited by others (pace an old review of CF).
One has to fight pseudoscience at every turn, in order to avoid further wastage of time and money. Look at how much money NASA wasted on the Podkletnov nonsense.

  • Well, don't make a ...

Well, don't make a sweeping statement without allowing for the possibility that its truth/falsity may depend upon a lot of caveats.

  • Just give up ged'. ...

Just give up ged'. Ignorantly sniping at people who's intellect is quantum leap(s) ahead of yours is a waist of our time. You are ignorant of the facts, as indicated in your first post and ignorant of critical thought, as evidenced in the second.

This is why no one is interested in your thoughts (except you), and evryone I know is interested in mine; including my research peers.

  • As for the ...

As for the importance of your "pseudo science" after initial realization of the laser, non-laymen thought it would become a technological miracle. It was then all but abandoned for decades, until the technological ability was developed. Sound familiar?

    I agree DUDE.
and for flower; Laymen don't call it PNAS nor did I say what CF is. I simply responded to a hypocritical idiot, out of frustration.
What do you think 4D-metricology is anyway genius? I do like how you imply that PNAS isn't a bona fide scientific journal.

btw, for someone so certain of the worthlessness of CF research, you certainly seem heavily invested in the issue.

  • And who has cited ...

And who has cited their recent PNAS papers? Nobody has done so in a bona fide scientific journal, although I believe that Parmenter has been writing articles for Infinite Energy magazine. That is a death-knell for any scientist's reputation.
Laymen really should try to understand that not everything which is published in a scientific journal immediately becomes fact. It would be like deciding that a coin was 'fair' on the basis of just one spin. ALL results have to be questioned.

Correction: that should have been (Parmenter & Lamb).

  • Nature, although it ...

Nature, although it publishes a few original papers, is primarily a scientific NEWSPAPER. This means that it is often bound to report things (such as dubious cold fusion news) which it would never itself publish.
As for the PNAS papers, there are only a handful of them, published between 1990 and 2004, and ALL written by the same two experimenters (Parmenter % Webb). THEY may be 'replicating' the original cold-fusion results, but who is checking on THEM?

  • Cold fusion is ...

Cold fusion is obeying perfectly Langmuir's rules for a pseudoscience: i.e. dramatic initial results, replication by reputable experimenters, and then a very slow decline involving decreasingly clear results and increasingly dubious replications, until it finally disappears completely; as did mitogenetic rays, polywater, etc.
"Those who forget (scientific) history are doomed to repeat it." (with apologies to George Santayana).

Hey gedgar. If people are so gullible, you are a lying dink. Excess energy, and side-products have been discovered in several replications. People like you are disgusting. Howabout reading, before judging; like Nature, or P.N.A.S.

It was an almost interesting documentary until I saw Steven Jones. Then it all just fell apart for me. More bullshit. Really only aimed towards discrediting a government they hate & want to remove. Nothing more than that here.

  • You people are SO ...

You people are SO gullible. Don't you think there is a counterpoint to this propaganda, and that if you heard that too, it might also be very convincing?

The experiments that the "cold fusion" experimenters did are a matter of public record. No one has been able to duplicate the "excess energy" that the early experimenters claimed.

Interestingly, neither could the early experimenters. It was publicized too soon before it could be verified.

  • I guess I just ...

I guess I just figure theres a rich person/people somewhere that would like to leave that as a legacy. Someone like Bill Gates who already has money and is a known philanthropist. Why not put your name in history forever? Just seems more likely that it isn't possible. I don't have a lot of faith in people but if this is possible someone should be doing it. But I hear you.

  • Not everyone has ...

Not everyone has the ability to build something like this in their garage. funding for it could cost a lot of money, the average person can't produce it themselves. So it's up to the people who control energy to fund it, and if they do that they lose a lot of money, so why would they do that?

I agree. Hard to believe there are not people somewhere willing to use/fund this technology despite opposition. If of course it was real. Just build it. If it works people can't deny it. If they don't want it sell it to someone who does.

Like all proper science - do the experiment, publish the results and have them replicated. Can't ask for more than that - putting up conspiracy theories as an excuse is not good enough.

because this was discovered relatively recently and the big oil companies and other corporations related to transport, energy and production will lose a lot of money if something like that is made. Then, the energy would be cheaper than bread.
