More lies. He had two engine failures during pilot training. They weren't crashes due to pilot error. He flew through power lines once but the plane never crashed. His A-4 Skyhawk aboard the Forrestal was destroyed in the fire aboard that ship in July 1967. The only plane he ever crashed that could possibly be blamed on him was the time he got shot down by a North Vietnamese SAM and before he ejected he completed his bombing run of an NV power plant. He has two medals for superior flying.
