  • Hey Dave I always ...

Hey Dave I always wondered is it better to start you car with the AC off. I always have started my car first, let her warm up and then engage the AC. I know alot of old people that always have theirs on and start it on full blast when they start the car. Do u think it puts strain on the compressor or have I just been paranoid.

Hey Dave, I have a 90 Marquis. Is there a way to un-stick Heat Valves. I guess since the AC went 2 or 3 summers without being used affected them.

  • Thanks for this, ...

Thanks for this, Dave. My '92 Accord's A/C (same as yours, except it's the 2 litre) has a leak somewhere and is also R12. Gas lasts for about two days if I'm lucky, then the compressor won't engage. Shame you're not in England, I'd happily pay you to fix it!

Don't use R134a in R12 systems. It will leak out in few months or even days. Use Isceon49 or something else, which is made for the old systems. And always add oil when you are charging empty systems, even if you don't see the leak!
