By 03subaru07 [Affiliate User] 1218042212wow... it's really interesting that so many people feel exactly the same about this. I know this film since I'm five or six years old and seeing that there are still enough people who haven't yet let their brains be destroyed by today's trashy popular culture and hold this wonderful film in similar high esteem is really comforting.
By DonFarshido [Affiliate User] 1217851683I can't help but feel a little tear coming to my eyes as I see this clip, I grew up with it, and it's still my favorite film and "Smile" my favorite piece of music...this is just as good as it gets...
By HabibTh [Affiliate User] 1217695327che bella!
beautiful scene.
me too! this movie just makes me feel so great :)
By saferwaters [Affiliate User] 1217189655wonderful end. never buck up. smile and go on.
he's simply thinking at his shoe and then make you understand something wonderful in life
This ending is only surpassed by the one in L'Atalante (if that's possible). Strange that I like this one even better than the ending of City Lights (but with masterpieces of this kind there is actually no "better" or "worse"). The end of a Chaplin-film is like a death, even if in this case it is more of a "happy" ending, it still tears me down.

Michael Jackson - Smile
I can't watch this clip without tearing up.
By outrageousxpanda [Affiliate User] 1216416341The actress is Paulette Goddard, who ended up living with Charlie Chaplin...and she was a beauty..an excellent actress to boot
