Sure you're right. But we always use that expression for any kind of outstanding performance...its funny and also complimentary.

Its just that some people on youtube can be so ignorant, rude and nasty. So sometimes you take things the wrong way because you can't see any facial expressions or tone of voice. But I've never heard that expression used to compliment a man before.
