I get a lot of comments that I should 'put a blanket over my kid's head'. So here you go, see for yourself what happens when I do that. Now I don't want to hear about blankets anymore, thanks.

At 15 months he had been weaned to 2 breastfeedings a day:first thing in the morning and last thing at night, unless he occasionally asked for a third nursing. So we were pretty much not nursing in public anymore.

However, after a couple of weeks of only 2 nursings a day, he caught a cold. The cold and the runny nose went on and on. After about 3 weeks, I decided to increase the amount of breast milk he was receiving and upped his nursings to 3 or 4 a day. Within 3 days, his cough was gone and his runny nose was almost gone. As far as I can tell, it seems to have had a positive effect on his immune system.

    People who tell you to cover up need to screw off. There isn't any reason to put a blanket over your baby's head when breastfeeding. If they don't want to see a natural and beautiful thing then they shouldn't look.
    Who wants to eat under a blanket anyway?
