Behold, a multi-stage hydrogen device! One thousand times bigger than Little Boy, the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Little Boy destroyed a city and killed 200 thousand people. But the Tsar is capable of taking out an entire province, and killing hundreds upon millions of people! The mushroom cloud from this bomb rose 40 miles above the could layer! It was worth 57 million tons of TNT going off at once!

The Soviet Union made this, the explosion was so big that their was no need for it! Radiation and fallout helped cause global warming.

    That film is actually RDS-37 not RDS-220 (the Tsar Bomaba). This footage is often mistaken for the Tsar. RDS-37 was a 1.8 Mt device developed as a result of Sakharov's Third Idea (staged radiation implosion). The Tsar used the same principle but on a larger scale.

    I should correct you. This was one of the cleanest bombs ever detonated. The 3rd stage was replaced with a lead rod instead of the uranium fuel rod, which would have then made the bomb 100 megatons, and yes, the "dirtiest" nuclear weapon ever fired. Without it, this bomb exploded so fast and so hot, it burnt out most of its fallout before it even had a chance to get airborne.
