    actually most rugby players are just as or even heavier than NFL players nowadays...excluding the big fat lineman in some cases!...adn an NFL player must be slower than a rugby player. Purely looking at all the padding they wear its gunna slow you down!..its just cos Football wasn't aimed as an avoiding contact sport where as rugby is both. Yeah some RB's avoid contact well but in the end they get hit.
