  • 747 design is not ...

747 design is not far from the original project that Boeing developed after loosing the licitation for a cargo plane (which Lockheed won with the Galaxy), and copying most of it concepts, by the way.

oh wow look at that, two stolen US things, from the C-5 Galaxy to the Space Shuttle. Russia can't think of anything themselves.

    In this order, I guess:

    1st - Antonov 225
    2nd - Antonov 124 Ruslan
    3rd - C-5 Galaxy

  • I know flight is ...

I know flight is just simple science.
But when you are on the groung going through one of these huge planes it just barely seem possible for them to move much less acheive controlled flight.

  • The 225 isn't the ...

The 225 isn't the only aircraft Antonov produced. As a matter of fact, the AN-124 can also haul massive cargoes. But back to the 225... considering that (for now) it's the only one of it's kind- and that it's capable of hauling an unholy amount of crap- it's not unusual that the U.S. (or any other nation) might desire the 225's services, possibly for multiple uses.

  • The composer is ...

The composer is Bach and I'm almost certain the band playing it is 'Sky' - very appropriate.

The AN-225 is indeed the only one flying and there is a 2nd one that is being (slowly) worked on at the moment to bring it into service.

With a load length of 45 metres there is ony one plane in the world for certain jobs. And the AN-225 is it.

Sorry to the yanks who think the Starlifter is bigger. It ain't, folks...

  • It's pretty well ...

It's pretty well documented that there is only one operational AN-225. There was a second one under construction but once the Soviet Union fell it was left unfinished. Now the Ukranians are in possession of it with hopes of making it airworthy. But as for now, only 1 AN-225

The ussr was already bankrupted from the start. Alot of the accounting was questionable and the amazing rapid growth that their economy experienced was due not to increased productivity which supports long run growth but simply a result of factor mobilization.

  • The Buran and AN225 ...

The Buran and AN225 itself virtually banrupted the socialist Russian USSR.

That system just can't give the excellence in military, space, consumerism that the capitalism can spare to.

Still, it was an amazing system for what they had.

  • Do some research ...

Do some research dickhead, under the surface it was/is better engineered than the American shuttles. Just like the Tupolev TU114 (Soviet's answer to Concorde) it's faster and holds more people. You should learn to spell too.

Unlike back water Russian S**ts like you that have to come to Canada to live, Canada will take in the S**t of the world, you are a prime example.

USA isn't the most technological country because they know F**k all about engineering! I would put Japan, Germany, and England ahead of USA, and that's the short list! Don't get me wrong, they make good looking cars, but I wouldn't trust them with anything that has moving parts, or a CPU anymore powerful than a pocket calculator!
