    range and the timbre of his voice, the harmonics...he has Caruso in sight on the highs...people who worry about his size, drop dead, please. This from a former choral director who studied voice under a teacher who worked with Eileen Farrell, I know what makes a voice work. LORD...what a joy. Now we get to contribute a world class, perhaps century class voice to the books...

    What is music but the soul of the universe? Listening to Nessun Dorma is like being in love. Opera is soul music. Let's watch this guy in the upcoming weeks. He does have talent, and this show isn't trying to send him to La Scala :-) If you were speaking about George W. Bush's merit due to background, I would agree with you. This guy isn't Caruso or Gigli, but he's good, and I want to see more. Let's agree to disagree & enjoy the show! The glass is half full. I'm with Maestro B on this!

    I understand your emotional philosophy, however I am not using emotions to rate his singing. At the end of the day, his love for his mother does not make him a better tenor than another without it. America is changing for the worse when we provide merit on someones background rather than actual talent.
