This slideshow is dedicated to our son Connor, who is autistic. We first suspected a problem at 16-18 months, but didn't push for therapuetic intervention until age 2. At 30 months, we enrolled him into a private ABA school, and supplemented with private tutoring and speech. He then entered the local school district's special needs preschool. Connor is now in a private ABA program. He goes to school 5 days a week (5 hours a day). We still supplement with private therapy. We've tried the gluten/caseine-free diet without success. Connor turned 3 in May 2008 and, despite some noticeable improvement, he is essentially still nonverbal. Fortunately, he is a happy, silly little boy. He's our angel. Some angels just need help to fly.
