Trees are actually one of the least efficient ones. Replacing trees with fast-growing grasses would pull more carbon from the atmosphere and release more oxygen.

So the "green" argument against logging is just an emotional one. It's really about aesthetics, etc.

Man that would have been so great at the end of that video if the chopper would have fell on that guy and killed him. It would have been a perfect video then. They could have named the video "Attack of the Killer trees" or " Trees take revenge". It's about time this earth gave back what we have raped from it for thousands of years. I guess that's part of the reason we have global warming and the ice caps are melting.

Well until we stop the need to live in houses, or use furniture or wipe our asses with toilet paper, there will always be a high demand for wood and paper products.

You will be pleased to know that about half of the planets oxygen supply comes from Phytoplankton in the ocean and the other half from trees, shrubs, grass and other plants. Not just trees on vancouver island ;)

Love the video - thanks for sharing. Like others others I find it hard to believe heli logging is profitable however it must be otherwise planet raping corporations wouldn't do it. Don't trees take carbon dioxide from the air to produce oxygen? Wonder what we're going to breath when we finally get all the trees cut down?
