This is what happens when you take Hydrogen Peroxide (3% Local Drug Store Grade) and pour it onto a sole of a shoe, the reaction is from the Hydrogen Peroxide killing the buildup of bacteria. Hydrogen Peroxide can help kill odors, cuts, and also help whiten the teeth if used properly.

    Not so sure this is 'killing' the bacteria. Certain bacteria have an enzyme called 'catalase' that acts to convert H2O2 to H2O and O2. So what you are seeing is the enzyme at work, producing oxygen gas bubbles. The only thing that would then be effectively killing the bacteria would be a change in osmolarity, but then that is negligible anyway.
