How to Braid Extensions Part Two- Kinky Braids

Thank you for the video. I have 4 kids, 3 of them girls and I need a hairsyle where they can get up, spray, and go. How many bags of hair do you usually use for a whole head? Also whats better the kinky hair or regular braid hair? Or can you use both?

the gel helps a lil and I think holding the hair firmly and briading it as firmly as as possible, i hope that helps, so not tight but firm and close to the scalp

Your braids came out pretty. How do you do it so the hair doesn't get loose? I always have problems with slippage after a few weeks of braiding my hair with extensions. I don't really like putting gel in my hair, but does is it what helps to hold it firmer? Or any other technique that helps keep tight?...not headache-tight but tight enough that it won't slip. Thanks.

I finished them (seems like they took forever) and they turned out great. Everyone is complimenting me on how well my hair looks and wants to know who did it. The only thing I can say is I had a little bit of a difficult time in the crown and that's because I have scarring alopecia, but the rest of the braids cover up the bald spot so it's all good. Continue to keep educating my sista!

Just wanted to say that I am new to Youtube and love your videos. Myself and my twelve year old daughter are watching them constantly and learning so many new things from you. I had her do my first twist and learned how to twist out. Now today I am watching your kinky twist vid and am experimenting with that. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to demonstrate to those of us with naturally nappy kinky hair how versatile we can still be.

To end a braid/twist with yarn what you do is get string (black preferably) and tie it around various parts of braids together at the end. Then, get a towel and drape you neck (this helps from getting the hot water from dripping and burning you) Then, get boiling water and dip it in the water for about 30-50 seconds and use your towel to squeeze the excess water out. Cut the yarn and viola! Curly ends to your braids/twists. This process it used instead of using a curling iron. Hope that helped!
