    Alas, helicopters are excluded from the Light Sport Aircraft (LSA). As far as I know there are no plans to include them in the near future...

    Wrong. The kind that we see here, does NOT classify as a part 103 compliant aircraft because it comes it at above 254 lbs, without floats. If it did have floats, the maximum weight allowed would be 312 lbs, for it to be P103....you don't need a private pilot's certificate to fly this, a light sport certificate will do. If it weighed more than 1,320 lbs and held more than 10 US gallons of fuel, then you would need a private pilot (but now, unless you add floats, you need a light sport to fly it)

    It's only classified as Ultralight when it is equipped with floats. The model you see here requires a private pilot rating or higher to fly. I've almost completed my commercial rotorcraft rating and would love to get my paws on one of these...
