Steve Perry of Journey, interviewed by Lisa Robinson, promoting his then new solo album 'Street Talk'. Part one of two parts. I created this slideshow, edited the audio and uploaded it but look for it on 'beerxpress' and others channels in a week or two when they get around to copying this video too. Steve Perry versus Arnel arguments will be deleted immediately and the posters blocked.

I tried to be happy about what paths God takes me and found I had missed performing music when I left music school 22 years ago. But I discovered I enjoy playing guitar and using my voice by experimenting with the vocal chords after watching Steve Perry perform on these videos. I didn't know how popular they were until this year, 2009. Although only purchased one of their first CDs in 2001, I found them to be fascinating and have plans to purchase their digitally mastered CDs this year. I have gone back to training myself to play the piano and I learned from native americans that there are different sounds from using the nose, voice, mouth, etc. I have a love for music that never went away although I stopped playing the cello, violin, viola, and piano 20 years ago. As far as my musical skills, I would love to play the tambourine for a band. I can't go back and restudy everything I didn't study but I go on with my Masters degree in non-profit management and try to be involved in the arts and child development. I don't think I can sing like Steve Perry, but I try to make the most of my voice and what music training I received over the past 40 years. I wish the members of Journey would give Steve encouragement during hard times including his recovery from hip surgery. I have assisted disabled students at Indiana University and know that people need assistance after surgery or injury. I broke a leg in three places myself and didn't think I could walk again. It was a miracle that I healed and Steve Perry is an inspiration. May God bless always.

  • Steve is very ...

Steve is very talented when it comes to being interviewed. Words are carefully chosen, yet he sounds friendly, open and informative (which he is, but he can get around questions or provide just enough information and not sound smarmy, like he's trying to hide something). I am becoming more impressed how he has orchestrated his career and I think that he was deeply hurt by the breakup of Journey. I love his voice and showmanship - my favorite performer of all time.
