Only problem with sea planes is their airframes don't last long due to the landings and TO's.

I live in State of New Mexico, southwest USA. When we have droughts, forest fires are common. Dozens of 'Tankers' fly over my house at 15 minute intervals. They return to the airbase for 'retardant mix'. Few are jet powered. Most radial piston 2 and 4 engine, some turbo prop. Danger flying in high elevation mountains and tight canyons are where, mostly human caused, fires burn. We 'slowly learn' let some fires burn to eliminate underbrush so future fires are not so hot and kill the trees.
