  • It could be a ...

It could be a corrupted prproj file. Open a new project with the same settings as the one you want to keep working on. Go to File>Import...
Find the prproj file of the project you want to keep working on and select that to import. It will import the project into the new project. It will show a folder with the name of the project you imported. Open up the folder and look for the sequence to keep working.

Got me started. Thankyou so much. I used to be a half decent linear editor and it has taken me the best part of ten years to get into non-linear. So much to learn!

    PAL DV 48K Preset.
    UK is same as AUST.
    - Jon ;)
If you double click a video from the project panel and it opens in the source panel. This would by default open so it will move both audio and video. that should add to timeline from there and bring any audio. if you play it in the source and hear audio and it don't move to the timeline that's a serious problem. Reinstall should fix it. Otherwise contact Adobe.

Right. I am in the Uk. Not sure how that translates in relation to PAL or NTSC. I'm a bit of a techo twit so dont know much about this kind of thing. Installing it wasnt the easiest task and I really dont want to uninstall it if I am using the wrong set up.

Can you suggest a suitable format?

  • Are you in a PAL or ...

Are you in a PAL or NTSC tv country? that's the main settings you need to get right, if the audio isn't coming in that's a serious error in the program. Reinstall it.
