I did some reading on that site and it specifically stated that Braddock trained really hard and Baer did not because he thought it was going to be an easy win for him.

nobody said Baer didn't get arsed. Baer lost fair and square...but again he did not take the his oponent seriously. Do your remember what happenned between Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas?? Tyson did not train for Douglas because he thought he could walk through Douglas...just like Baer did not train for Braddock.

clerkhog: First of all I used to fight long, long, time ago. Also, Baer had the strongest right hand in boxing. After killing Campbell, Baer would always hold back. Hello Burtwiseman, these guys that are giving you a hard time about the comments about Braddock know nothing about Bradock. You know boxing..these guys watched Cinderella Man and think Braddock is a great heavyweight. Max Baer was a much better fighter...the cinderella man label came because Braddock got very lucky. Nobody and i mean nobody took Braddock seriously, especially Maxy Bear.

you are absolutely right burtwiseman. Braddock fought like a champ against Bear...however Bear was a much tougher fighter and stronger fighter. he did not take Braddock seriously..as u can see he clowned around a lot! Braddock would have never given Bear a rematch because Bear would have killed him...Braddock coasted for 2 years until he got pounded by Joe Louise. Bear was always a stronger fighter than Braddock.
