True, unfortunately, the poor and homeless are at a disadvantage. If you would have seen the posts that led to my first post, you would have seen the reason why I posted. Plus, I've had these thoughts for a couple years and wanted to speak my mind. It's unfortunate that people in N.O. became confused with the false alarm warning and the real thing. But I believe that if they really wanted to survive, they would leave. Thanks for the name-calling and closed-mind too, mature. Are you always angry?

SF was 2000 miles from where movies were made in 1906 (yes that's the year people LOL). Hollywood developed after WWI (that's 1918+ LOL)
SF had year-round great weather. The economy of 1906 was vastly simpler than now. Few homes even had indoor plumbing in 1906. Almost no cars, No highways or bridges to collapse. Farming was the main industry.
Yeah, New Orleans could get afoot quickly too if you mean the ability to run horse and bicycles on Canal Street.
well ur book is wrong...

There was a fire too, as gas tanks were fractured and exploded. I think they are more prepared now if it ever happens again!
This has to be a fake, my book tells me that the earthquake was in 1907, one full year before this. And SF is near where they make the movies isn't it? It doesn't take much to put 2 and 2 together. They probably took the colour off to just make it look like 1805. That's easy...look at the Matrix film!

Back then the buildings were not as strong and were now and would have been made of weaker materials such as wood in stead of more sturdy concrete.
By high712 [Affiliate User] 1202208157 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you're referring to the hurricane Katrina which may I say has NOTHING to do with the video at hand (earthquakes) there was a hurricane warning just before the Katrina hurricane warning that turned out to be a false alarm. People wanted to stay home and take care of their children, pets, family that couldn't leave, etc. And of course, the homeless who had billions of dollars to hop on a plane to safety. All these people that couldn't leave New Orleans aren't stupid, they were trapped. Idiot.
By shutyourassup23 [Affiliate User] 1202046059 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is the San Francisco earthquake of 1906... it's pretty much nowhere near New Orleans... Who was even talking about New Orleans?
By shutyourassup23 [Affiliate User] 1202045817 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNew Orleans is expecting the federal government to take action. But people shouldn't rely only on government. And I have always been told after a natural disaster, you will likely be on your own for 3 days. What I don't understand is how the residents of New Orleans did nothing. They had some warning, but did nothing but wait. People shouldn't expect others to help them; they need to get prepared themselves.
By tudorjason [Affiliate User] 1198772585 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe government doesn't give a damn about New Orleans. That's what's wrong.
By vlcupper [Affiliate User] 1197606307 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for putting this on. My grandmother was 21 at the time when this happened and told me a lot about it. It took just 3 years to get that town up and running again, what is the problem with New Orleans?

The US wouldn't experience any disaster of this magnitude again for 99 & 1/2 years.
101 years later and I have to say that the men and women were decked out in their finest attire to view the rubble and destruction.
