My tour in Vietnam (Bong Son) plus Super 8 film and actual audio of our 1970 New Year's Eve in Da Nang (bringing in the new year to the sound of M16 rifle fire)
can you tell me the song in the first part please and thank you very much
By E Money 13 1220062806 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewhat do you mean "heros", america had absolutely no F**king right whatsoever in the world to be in vietnam, like iraq too.

By phoneix91 [Affiliate User] 1199079559 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for sharing the memories. Great video. Most Vietnam vets that I have talked or listened to have both good and bad memories of their time in Vietnam(only combat vets can call it "Nam"..LOL). I guess you could call it bittersweet. Peace. Thanks again..excellent video.
By Methadone4Life [Affiliate User] 1198226719 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe Vietnam vets were the bravest of the brave and toughest of the tough. While I am fiercely anti-war(unjust wars that is),I still always give support to the brave soldiers who fight. I am especially fond of the Vietnam vets who fought horrific conditions, idiotic rules of engagement and pitiful leaders..yet still performed admirably. You can be opposed to war but support the troops. Politicians start wars..but the poor fight them.

By tempo529 [Affiliate User] 1185657243 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeavenger741 you are a piece of S**t obvioulsy you are a gutless waste of life that should be strapped to a bomb vest and sent on a one way ticket to iraq where you can actually contribute for once in your wasted life. go F**k your sister and blow your mother.
By longhornius [Affiliate User] 1183853058 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou are definitely an oaf. There is a reason why the military wants close-minded and stupid people like you to fight for them, because in the end your life is not going to matter. Nobody cares about wastrels.
By avenger741 [Affiliate User] 1183560127 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou guys invade foreign lands and kill may innocent people. You R**e the women. And you come back to America and expect to be treated with respect. When you die, hell will be waiting for all of you.
By avenger741 [Affiliate User] 1183559711 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWelcome home! Did 8 months (1st Cav infantry '67-'68) in Bong Son area before Quang Tri/Khe Sanh. English was battalion HQ but only saw like every 30 days for showers. Even then: guard duty @ night & burned friggin' sh___ers after breakfast. Figured we were abused (it was rear-echelon s__t)so loved it when breeze filled mess tent with beautiful, black billows. We did a week of guard duty @ bridge & entire platoon got crotch-crickets @ two-holer. Hope Charlie blew it, too.

By PirateXzibit [Affiliate User] 1181126938 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveReally good video. My father-in-law was a jet jock and spent a year there. Unfortunately he never talked about it and when going through his stuff after he died we found photos, a DFC and Air medals in a box, but not enough to really understand what he did or experienced. I wish he had done something like this video so his grandkids could know him better. Unfortunately without info from him, their impression of vietnam vets comes from "Apocolypse Now".
By cavychauffeur [Affiliate User] 1180122097 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf idiot is the "now" generation term for "cool dude" then, thank you. If you're being disrespectful, then pretend you actually spent time in a war zone, MF. You are clueless. Can someone give me an Amen?

Went from there to N.English and down to Uplift. Remember when they blew it up. I was even in the compound shown in your post. Very well done. John
