Doriseul is right here. Victor Wooten is not a genius like Jaco. The two names shouldn't even be compared or put together in a sentence. Victor Wooten may be good as a technician but has no 'intellectual creative spark' or 'genius inner energy' or that Jaco has in abundance.

i think to thaddius tribbett is a modern day jaco TO AN EXTENT.. well he is on the right path to be coming this beastly.. check him out.. Tye Tribbett's brother

Really all, come on grow grow up. Victor, Stanley, Marcus, Nitti, etc. all have completely different styles than jaco.

Jaco in his relatively short career compiled an incomparable and untouchable bass manifesto for the ages....doriseul has it right....everyone else is just an imitator (for the most part)

yeah man, amen. people are so immature... i like jaco and entwistle. but i like jazz music more so of course i would like jaco! haha entwistle is still a great bassist, but this is jacos video. no entwistles. so leave the jibberish for a video that compares both. k?

I knew it would only be a matter of three posts or so before some wit mentioned something about having respect for the dead (i.e> John Entwistle). Please show me where I was directly disrespectful to Entwistles decomposing remains. I was merely dissing his bass solo, which may as well have been a Mel Bay beginner exercise using heavy distortion. Now shut yer pie hole, go to your room, and plug in some Weather Report!

If you don't dig this solo, i don't think you know much about bassplaying :-)
