Ode to The 60's tv Batmobile (....or Bird Mobile?)

Ok, Our heros costumes of the day where
disturbingly lame, however...

Batmobiles have come and gone but the 1960's
version, based on the 1955 Lincoln Futura
concept car, must be one of the most spectacular and beautiful cars ever to grace a highway.
But let's not forget the "bat cycle"
..everyone else has.

    tardesnegras.....I am guessing that was not sarcasm. I would put the ride of any new mass production car up against the ride of any of these older cars and 9 times out of 10 you will get a better, more smooth ride out of the older cars like this one. I used to have a 1977 Ford LTD Crown Vic and that car was the smoothest riding car I have ever ridden in. I have ridden in a lot of different cars, including Mercedes-Benz, and not one of them had the smooth ride of that barge-sized car from 1977.

    I totally agree with that too. Batman lost its fun when they started making these newer darker movies. Batman does not sleep with newspaper reporters in the TV series from back then either. Also, Catwoman was not such a slut in the old TV show. It just gets trashier as time moves along.

    Actually these old cars had much better, smoother-riding suspension than anything these days. Cars these days are made for handling, not comfort which makes for a very bad ride with a lot of them. They actually had traction control and other innovations back then that made them hold the road very well for the size that they were. It just looked bad when he slammed on the brakes in this video and stopped abruptly. You stop like that in a new car and you will get pretty much the same result.

    Bugged me later versions looked more like land speed record missiles or heavy armoured cars. I always thought the 1960 batmobile nailed a predatory look and seemed well suited to jetting around Gotham City.

    back in the 1960's exercise wasnt that huge. exercising only really became mainstream in the 1980s. Btw, this is my favorite generation of Batman. I dont like the new dark version.
