Here are TWO of the original Shelby Cobra 427s. You can find street versions and replicas - but these two are the actual competitors circa 1965.

  • man you obviously ...

man you obviously don't know much about this RACING legend, the car NOT the man, this Cobra RACE car couldn't be touched when it hit the RACE circuit. The Cobra RACE car is a legend because of it's performance. By the way it is NOT acknowledged as a muscle car your the only one who thinks it is, it is in FACT a LEGENDARY RACE car and you only wish you could have a piece of S**t worth as much and admired by so many.

  • Incredible cars! ...

Incredible cars! There are some SC's in the Norcal Cobra Club....not sure if anyone has one of these. Usually owners of such valuable cars do not show them much or want anyone to know where they might be.

  • I wasn't saying ...

I wasn't saying anything against the replicas. My argument was people comparing the replicas against the originals. I'm in same boat as you. I'll never own an original. I can only dream about it, thus it is my dream car. Until I hit mid-life crisis, I don't think I will get serious enough to go after a cobra. Chances it will be a replica. But my choice would be between a cobra or a Mustang GT 500. Till than I'll keep on dreaming. Thanks for your honest reply.

  • no disrespect ...

no disrespect intended, but you mostly see replicas because very few people have the quarter of a mil or + spare in the bank to drop on a car... personally i doubt i ever will, however i'd LOVE to own a cobra. and if i did, i would rather drive it than put it under a glass case. i would feel more comfortable leaving a $30,000+/- replica alone in a parking lot than a $250,000+ original.
