I cannot speak for what you say you watch, but I have most certainly never seen any show that pretends the US and Britain won the war. US shows speak mostly to the US contribution, British shows speak mostly to British contribution: same I am sure for France, belgium, canada, etc.

Kali, well, it enough to watch Discovery Channel or History, Explorer. Often there are shows about WW2 and pretty often they say that USA and GB won the war. The overestimation of the US and GB contribution in the war against Germany is obvious. Just watch Empire, he said that USA and GB fought 50% of German forces. I wonder where he got that...

Don't waste your time. These people watch news in their country about America and have no clue what the stuff means. They don't realize US unemployment is lower than theirs, US makes far more money, etc etc. They don't get that. They hear "debt", "job loss", "mortgage crisis" and think America is dying.

To be clear, at the moment the US is not even in a recession. US economy continues to grow and produce jobs, though both have been slowed. A recession is defined as two quarters of negative growth. The US has not had ANY negative growth, to date. The drop of the dollar has ben a huge boon for domestic industry and allows us to cut into the trade deficit. Nobody is saying things are rosy and great, but they are also overall still good. No recession, no depression, and certainly no 'collapse'.

Actually, for what it is worth Imperial, the US does not have the lowest GDP ratio in the G-20, it has the third-lowest.
