This was the 60s they were hippies. Did they not F**king idolise chuck berry? Why would they ( WHO BY THE WAY WERE HIPPIES) idolise a black musican if they were indeed rascist. Context? Exploiting a very specific history of slavery just to have some lyrics to sing and dance to is wrong.

Somehow that doesn't seem to apply to racism. Youtube only allows violence, and stolen copyrighten material (both songs and movies). Messed up, go back.

If you just read the lyrics without considering any context and without any further interpretation then you might misunderstand this song as being racist. I agree.

Maybe this post will make it through... npotash, sarcasm doesn't handle racist sentiments very well- ie can still be offensive if literal. It is a dysphemism. Besides, "sarcasm" is too easy an excuse esp for those in the US- often cited by John Stewart for example when he claims he's just a comedian, and does not function like a talking head on a news program when he shares a lot in common with them.

they aren't racists, but i'd just like to say that experts estimate 95% of wikipedia's info is accurate.

well yes, the song is about R**e , etc., but that doesn't necessarily make it racist- the stones were often very sarcastic with their lyrics.
