About one thing we may be sure. The U.S. deficit and national debt are going to soar. The credit rating of the United States, as this nation of non-savers has to borrow abroad to save its banks, and their banks, is going to fall. We are going to be a poorer nation and people.

Personally, I think it's time we had the crash. The sooner the crash happens, the sooner things are straightened out, the sooner we can fix things and the more things that can be fixed. We give these banks their 700 billion and they'll be allowed to be strip the USA further.

I always wonder how effective this kind of debate is. I may be wrong, but it seems that all the congressmen/women have already made up their mind even before the bill is available to them. Is this just a political theater?
