    just because it says so on tv doesnt mean anything..look it up on the internet. hippos are not herbivores they are omnivores and sometimes eat dying or dead crocodiles

    hippos hve been known to eat meat on occasion, though in this film i do believe if the hippo was about to eat the impala it would have crushed it in its powerful jaws in that scene.
