HEY GARY COLLINS, QUIT WHILE YOUR AHEAD the war IN iraq, is simply, as mason said, smothered in red tape. The Americans, unlike thier enemy, are REQUIRED to restrain their firepower (to minimize civilian casualties). Their enemy however, has no such restraints (hence why suicide bombers, roadside bombs, etc account for literally approx. 80% of all US casualties in Iraq). Its urban guerilla warfare, and what the US is doing right now is more policing than anything.

er, did I ever state I was for war with Iran? I simply said that they would stand no chance against the U.S. arsenal in a full-out, conventional war. I don't support any war against Iran unless there is very good reason for it, just like any other war against any other country.

Whats wrong with Iran?Let me guess, "weapons of mass destruction", yeah, there were lots of those found in Iraq too. Is it because of their nuclear program? So what? It should be monitored to make sure there are no bombs being made from it. But as a means of energy? Come on. Iran hasn't done anything but stand up to the U.S. So what. Until there's tangible evidence of potential danger, that mindset you have is on par with Nazi Germany.

Unfortunately, the enemy is not an army but rather cowards who use their own people as meat shields, so it is difficult, if not impossible, to use more conventional tactics without civilian casualties.
