Snakes have a bad reputation. This reputation however, is not deserved. Snakes do not go out and purposely attack people. Snakes simply want to be left alone.

Many snakes have ways to signal that they want to avoid conflict, rather then bite. They rattle, have warning coloration, or spread a hood.

When snakes are left alone they are completely harmless. Snakes bites on people usually only happen when someone is purposely handling a venomous snake(usually when trying to capture or kill the snake).
