Norinco 1911C. Gun has already been cleaned and oiled, just a video to show you how to take apart an original pattern 1911A1 pistol.

This is not a series 70, but rather an original pattern design from before the 1971 change to series 70 by colt. The series 70 is very similar apart some changes to the frame, bushing and barrel. I would like to thank W4llyB4nger for pointing this out as I had originally labeled the video 'series 70' in which, technically it is not.

Ouch, but yeah, 1911s are probably one of the most safest fire arms ever on account of their 3 safety features. Your model is actually my favorite, I especially like the silver colored barrel, looks shiny hahaha.

  • You really need ...

You really need some holding discipline, the barrel was point at the top of your palm. Not too safe; especially with a high calibered weapon like that.

  • Found it funny. You ...

Found it funny. You are correct. I have had my buddies ask how i can holster my 1911 with the hammer down? I would tell them that it's safe and they would be weary of me. I confedently demonstraited that it was safe by taking a plastic spring loaded hammer to it(gently)and it will not fire. It's funny to watch them go crazy. The trigger is connected to a lever that rises into the spring plunger, & when it contacts it drops the hammer.

  • I made it thorough ...

I made it thorough because, at the time, there was NOTHING in regards to a decent 1911 takedown video. All of the ones that i had found were either field strip races, or a thorough field strip, nothing more. Thus this video, there are now a few others like mine.

  • Thanks for your ...

Thanks for your feedback. Had I known more about the series 80 when I made this video, I wouldn't have said "too bad" for series 80 owners.
The series 80 is a neat design, in which it truly is safe to carry with the hammer down on a loaded chamber. Even if the pistol is dropped on the hammer, the firing pin block will not allow the firing pin to touch the primer unless the trigger is pulled.

  • Hey brentnowell, I ...

Hey brentnowell, I have a Auto-Odrnance 1911 Series 80. There is a firing pin/extractor spring plug saftey located just under the pin slide that I have to press down on it in order for me to remove the pin slide, firing pin & extractor. it can be a bitch to remove but with pratice and patience, it's second nature. Nice video.

He's right folks, I found a good source for that info and the pistol is defenitly patterned in design to the original and not the series 70 which was manufactured in 1971 to 1983.

  • :) Never said it ...

:) Never said it was a crime, just getting the facts straight. However, the origonal 1911 is still the origonal 1911 so calling the Origonal design a "70 series" is like calling a jeep YJ a Willys ;)
