In 1984 Victor Davis, one of Canada's all-time great swimmers, broke his own world record in the 200m breaststroke during the Olympic heats and again in the finals, bringing it down to 2:13.31. In addition, he took two silvers, in the 100 Breaststroke and the 400 Medley relay.

  • They are rerunning ...

    They are rerunning the picture on CBC right now (SAT 7 June 08). It's pretty formulaic, like a 1980's made for TV movie. Guess it is the subject matter that made it the top watched program on CBC in a decade.

    The swimmer's acomplishments are more significant than this remake of his life. I suppose it is a way to teach people about his history, but it's not the same.
