Huge Dan Hartman fan. Was seriously bummed when he died of AIDS. You should check out his dance classic "Relight My Fire" which was a huge hit all over the world and is still played in gay clubs today. I think Dan was still in the closet when he died.

Edgar was awesome playing all those instruments. I love this song its so blue-eyed soul!

I know how stupid these entries are but here's one more! I saw this on Don Kirchner's Rock Concert in '74 and said, I didn't know EWG did Free ride! I bought they only come out at night promptly thereafter. We forget how little Derringer is.

Did you notice when Dan is playing the guitar on the lower neck Edgar is thumping the note on the bass neck? Cool trick. This is really one of my favorite bands of all time. Winter/Hartman/Derringer/Ruff. What couldn't this band do?

I saw this air for the first time when I was 14. I wrote Fender and asked them how much a double neck cost. Someone at Fender was nice enough to write back and explain they have never built a double neck and that Dan's must have been custom built. They even sent me a current catalog of their product line. I was years away from buying my first Fender (an ivory Strat I bought in '77) but I thought it was so cool that Fender answered some kid. I still play Fender and wish I still had that Strat! :)

I got a phone call from Monique Winter(no kidding!) one night in the mid '90's while I was watching Hollywood Squares. We talked for 10 min or so! I couldn't find a copy on CD of Dan's new age CD(new green clear blue?)so I wrote to an address on one of Edgar's CD's. She had her personal secretary send me a copy on cassette.Years later finally found a copy on CD.
ps - This is the 1st time for me to see Dan sing this and play the double neck! Thanks so much KROGG! You rock!

I remember seeing this when it was broadcast for the first time. This lineup of the Edgar Winter Group is still one of my favorite bands of all time.

Dan was amazing. Here you had Dan, Edgar and Rick all in the same band and they couldn't get over. Probably three of the best singer/songwriters/musicians of their time. That this band wasn't huge is a crime. I saw Edgar & Rick about a month ago at the HOB in Dallas (Rick opened for Edgar) and THEY STILL HAVE IT. Thanks for the comment and yeah, Dan Hartman rocked!

Awesome! Dan Hartman is so great, and so often overlooked as one of the greatest talents behind Edgar Winters band. Edgar and Rick are great, however, Dan really rocks it for me.
